What People are Saying

We are a small non-profit and Hannah has been truly a life saver. She shows us the way forward and keeps us on track. Hannah is a great teacher and mentor and is always available with an encouraging word and a burst of energy that rejuvenates us. She has a wealth of knowledge that she portions out in amounts we can digest and implement. I believe that no matter if you are new to the world of development or have been doing it for decades, Hannah could step in, assess your strengths and needs, and plot out a course that will lead you to a stronger, better place. I cannot recommend her enough.

Hannah provides insight, guidance, confidence, support and practical information to assist in all aspects of development and fundraising. She has helped me personally increase my understanding of development and helped me find comfort and even pleasure in “the ask”. I now have a better sense of self when fundraising and truly understand the value of creating, maintaining, and fostering relationships and communication. Hannah has helped me grow within my lay leadership capacity, as well as a personal and professional one. Hannah is always willing to talk things through, be a sounding board and offer advice and guidance. I’m thrilled that we have continued our relationship beyond our time at JCADA. It is a relationship that I look upon with incredible value and appreciation.

We wanted to learn the art and science of fundraising, so that we could grow and become more sustainable. We knew right from the start that Hannah was just what we needed - an enthusiastic, well-informed and professional consultant to help us bring our fundraising to the next level. Immediately, she took the time to understand and appreciate our organization and helped us to create a set of tangible and achievable goals. While she fostered independence, she guided us every step of the way. In all of our communications with Hannah, we found her to be energetic, knowledgeable and always upbeat and positive. With her help, we launched our first end-of-year campaign, which more than doubled our assets! More specifically, she helped us create a thorough database of current and future donors, write appeal letters and emails and gave us strategies to maximize our social media communications and outreach. She helped us to create our annual budget, our fundraising timeline and calendar and even researched possible grant opportunities. Perhaps most importantly, she helped us become more invigorated and confident that we could continue on the path she helped us establish.

Hannah is an excellent connector of people and ideas who brings a passionate commitment to social change to her work. I have had the pleasure of knowing Hannah for four years in a variety of capacities and often find myself seeking her insights into nonprofits and philanthropy. Whether it is advice on a specific issue or discussing broader trends in the social sector, I always leave our conversations enriched. Her eternal optimism and incredible heart are two impressive qualities that she brings to every room and interaction. Hannah’s enthusiastic commitment, smart thinking, and excellent work shine in everything she does.

Hannah has been essential to us as our organization takes the next step in our fundraising efforts. She has been a pleasure to work with and has been a fantastic mentor. She is incredibly dedicated, knowledgeable, and available for consultation whenever needed. Hannah’s experience and commitment make her an invaluable asset to any organization. I highly recommend her!

In early 2018, The Writer’s Center (TWC) faced a perfect fundraising storm. Facing tremendous upheaval, both externally (a major building renovation) and, perhaps more crucially, internally: both our Executive and Development Directors quit, within weeks of each other.
Between the disruption of physical files, their lack of well-preserved electronic files and the loss of institutional memory, the risk of missed opportunities, mishandled funders and overlooked donors was substantial.

On a colleague’s recommendation, I (Margaret, the newly-installed-board-member-turned-Executive-Director) reached out to Hannah for help. With her unflagging energy and perpetual good cheer, Hannah assisted TWC in vetting each potential permanent Development Director. She ensured that TWC not only captured a meaningful historical overview of its individual, foundation and corporate connections, but also kept the fundraising train moving forward during this tumultuous time.

Her fact-gathering was so meticulously researched and organized that when Amy came on board (our new Development Director) she was able to hit the ground running, bringing in fresh revenue within a matter of weeks. We are both tremendously grateful for Hannah’s skill, dedication and joie de vivre in sharing what she does. Our jobs would have been immensely more difficult without her.
— Margaret Meleney, Executive Director & Amy Freeman, Director of Development

Hannah Zollman is a launch pad for bringing your organization to the next level, whatever that is for you. We are an organization that has grown tremendously in the last 10 years, from managing less than $3 million to almost $15 million in housing and services for people who are chronically homeless and have multiple severe and persistent disabilities. Our growth has been organic based on the needs of our community. We managed it well, but did not expand our infrastructure at the same rate as our services. Development, marketing and relationship building with our stakeholders suffered. In walked Hannah. She is meticulously organized and practices her craft well. She identified our needs, prioritized them, and helped to hire and onboard staff to meet them. She has coached and mentored our staff, and me, in a gracious and productive manner. She is an aggregator of pertinent information. She functions as an extension of our staff, much more than a consultant, and our development efforts are thriving, in large part, because of her help!
— Christine Simiriglia, President & CEO, Pathways to Housing PA

I have been blown away by Hannah’s professionalism, knowledge and enthusiasm! As a start-up non-profit publication, we were at square one with little grasp of how to go about finding funders and building a sustainable organization. Hannah provided invaluable help at all levels, producing a detailed top-to-bottom development plan, undertaking a huge amount of research to identify possible funders, and offering insight, clarity and just-what-we-needed support all along the way. Working with Hannah has been a partnership, down to her intuitive ability to “get me” and offer advice that plays to the organization’s strengths. With Hannah’s help, Food Bank News is moving forward with a top-notch plan and 100% more confidence. I can’t recommend Hannah highly enough!
— Chris Costanzo, Founder and Editor, Food Bank News

Hannah has been invaluable to me as I built an integrated fundraising and marketing department for my agency. We grew from one staff person to three and really built the department from the ground up, building and documenting processes and procedures as we go. Hannah was a fantastic source of knowledge for best practices and templates, but the most integral support she provided was coaching me through the hiring and on-boarding of two staff members.

I’m a relatively new manager and relied heavily on Hannah to support me (and my team members) through our first few months as a team. Hannah’s insights into the dynamics that were developing and how to either foster that growth or redirect it into a more productive relationships were spot on. She was, and is, incredibly responsive and validating while also pushing me when I need a push. Our team, and our organization as a whole, will be stronger thanks to Hannah.
