What People are Saying

We are a small non-profit and Hannah has been truly a life saver. She shows us the way forward and keeps us on track. Hannah is a great teacher and mentor and is always available with an encouraging word and a burst of energy that rejuvenates us. She has a wealth of knowledge that she portions out in amounts we can digest and implement. I believe that no matter if you are new to the world of development or have been doing it for decades, Hannah could step in, assess your strengths and needs, and plot out a course that will lead you to a stronger, better place. I cannot recommend her enough.

Hannah provides insight, guidance, confidence, support and practical information to assist in all aspects of development and fundraising. She has helped me personally increase my understanding of development and helped me find comfort and even pleasure in “the ask”. I now have a better sense of self when fundraising and truly understand the value of creating, maintaining, and fostering relationships and communication. Hannah has helped me grow within my lay leadership capacity, as well as a personal and professional one. Hannah is always willing to talk things through, be a sounding board and offer advice and guidance. I’m thrilled that we have continued our relationship beyond our time at JCADA. It is a relationship that I look upon with incredible value and appreciation.

We wanted to learn the art and science of fundraising, so that we could grow and become more sustainable. We knew right from the start that Hannah was just what we needed - an enthusiastic, well-informed and professional consultant to help us bring our fundraising to the next level. Immediately, she took the time to understand and appreciate our organization and helped us to create a set of tangible and achievable goals. While she fostered independence, she guided us every step of the way. In all of our communications with Hannah, we found her to be energetic, knowledgeable and always upbeat and positive. With her help, we launched our first end-of-year campaign, which more than doubled our assets! More specifically, she helped us create a thorough database of current and future donors, write appeal letters and emails and gave us strategies to maximize our social media communications and outreach. She helped us to create our annual budget, our fundraising timeline and calendar and even researched possible grant opportunities. Perhaps most importantly, she helped us become more invigorated and confident that we could continue on the path she helped us establish.

Hannah is an excellent connector of people and ideas who brings a passionate commitment to social change to her work. I have had the pleasure of knowing Hannah for four years in a variety of capacities and often find myself seeking her insights into nonprofits and philanthropy. Whether it is advice on a specific issue or discussing broader trends in the social sector, I always leave our conversations enriched. Her eternal optimism and incredible heart are two impressive qualities that she brings to every room and interaction. Hannah’s enthusiastic commitment, smart thinking, and excellent work shine in everything she does.

She is incredibly dedicated, knowledgeable, and available for consultation whenever needed. Hannah’s experience and commitment make her an invaluable asset to any organization. I highly recommend her!

In early 2018, The Writer’s Center (TWC) faced a perfect fundraising storm. Facing tremendous upheaval, both externally (a major building renovation) and, perhaps more crucially, internally: both our Executive and Development Directors quit, within weeks of each other.
Between the disruption of physical files, their lack of well-preserved electronic files and the loss of institutional memory, the risk of missed opportunities, mishandled funders and overlooked donors was substantial.

On a colleague’s recommendation, I (Margaret, the newly-installed-board-member-turned-Executive-Director) reached out to Hannah for help. With her unflagging energy and perpetual good cheer, Hannah assisted TWC in vetting each potential permanent Development Director. She ensured that TWC not only captured a meaningful historical overview of its individual, foundation and corporate connections, but also kept the fundraising train moving forward during this tumultuous time.

Her fact-gathering was so meticulously researched and organized that when Amy came on board (our new Development Director) she was able to hit the ground running, bringing in fresh revenue within a matter of weeks. We are both tremendously grateful for Hannah’s skill, dedication and joie de vivre in sharing what she does. Our jobs would have been immensely more difficult without her.
